Heron Carpentry Ltd

This was the first time we used Gerry, he was recommended by another tradesman. He built a cupboard in the en suite, painted the room and was willing to go a few extra miles, we will definitely use Heron Carpentry again.

Gerry has done three jobs for us – all completed above our expectations. The first job was renovating a section of waney wooden cladding on the front of our house which had rotted over time. Gerry sourced and fitted the replacement cladding which now blends in perfectly with the original cladding. Gerry also designed and fitted a new corner walk-in corner pantry cupboard which looks as though it was always a part of our existing shaker style kitchen. Most recently, Gerry fitted an engineered wood floor in a large room onto old floorboards which had never been level in the centre of the room. Gerry made good the long-standing defects in the original floor before laying the new flooring and fitting new skirting boards. It now looks great. Gerry is friendly, tidy, punctual and works hard to get things done in the time he has planned. Gerry is clearly an expert carpenter and I highly recommend him.

Heron Carpentry is excellent, I highly recommend Gerry and his team.

The wardrobes were nice although a bit on the expensive side (around £4K) but he left a plug inside the wardrobe rather than moving it so it’s impossible to use and for the price I would have expected perfection - I wouldn’t have him back

We are still discovering issues with the fitting of our kitchen and utility, months after Heron (Heroes?) Carpentry left. Poor cuts/drilling, alignment issues, corner posts incorrectly fitted with units overlapping, holes drilled in the wrong place on our new fridge door, doors put on the wrong way around, poorly fitted sinks with packers left on show, damaged units and panels. See photographs. I could go on and have spent a considerable amount of time and money trying to correct some of the above. Many of these issues were discussed with Gerry at the time and he did cover the cost of replacing three doors that were put on the wrong way. We didn’t ask Heron Carpentry back to complete the remaining work Gerry had quoted for. I don’t like posting negative reviews but we have been so disappointed with the quality of workmanship and relied on the 5 star Which? reviews when choosing Heron Carpentry.

Very poor standard of kitchen fitting. Angles all over the place, damage to cupboards, doors not fitting. Would not recommend. (And yes Gerry, you HAVE done this work so you can't get out of it by saying this is fake!)

Unprofessional! Stood me up twice with some pathetic excuse that stank of lie ten miles away. Giant waste of time! EDIT: No, this is not a fake review. You gave me an appointment on 21/10/22 and then cancelled at the last minute, rescheduled for 28/10/22 and never showed up. I understand it might be difficult to remember the episode, though, if you make a habit of standing customers up.
